What Are Writing Prompts/Story Starters?

Writing prompts does just what the name implies; they “prompt” you to start writing.

No matter if you are a beginner or experienced writer, you may find writing prompts or story starters very beneficial in creating different story ideas.

Normally writing prompts or story starters are a line of dialogue, a photo, short scenarios or phrases, titles, or even single words that get your creative wheels turning.

You can find the prompts in any genre.

Examples:

Nancy couldn’t open up her eyes. They felt glued shut.

“Are you sure you don’t want to take me up on that offer?”

Even in paradise, the roses have thorns.
