In essence, be an actor!
Well, since I am an actress, I think creating real characters, characters that my audience can relate to, will not be too much of a challenge for me. It's all about using your imagination.
We all remember how we were as kids, teens, right? We all remember how we behaved when we or someone we knew went through a certain situation, right? So use that when you are creating your stories.
Let's pretend like! As we used to say when I was younger! ha!
I put myself in all my characters. It's just like when I'm reading a script, I have to take what is going on on the page, and think to myself: "What would I do if I was in this situation?", bringing a little of me into the role always help make it real for me.
If it's real for me, then it will be real for those watching that play or that film or, in this instance, reading that story! I challenge you to let you imagination run wild! You can be anything you want to be!
So become that character...feel, breathe, see, what your character feels, breathes, and sees! When you can relate to what you are writing...others will too!
Until the next episode....
